The pioneer of Positive Psychology and past president of the American Psychological Assocation, Martin Seligman, gives us a profound way to make our lives happier: Quit doing things you don’t like, and do more of the stuff you do like! A fun exercise to help figure out these things is to take a sheet of paper, on one side write what inspires you, on the other, what expires you. After writing down these things that you like and don’t like, go through the list and figure out how you can do more things that inspire you. On the “don’t like” side, think about the things you feel obliged to do.
